The bell rang...

It knocked the sweat right off his head! Look close, you can see it!

He thought, “Where did that come from? I didn't even see it coming!”

Have you ever got stuck with a jab or lead right hand faster than you could blink your eyes?

Why does this happen…Over…and…Over….Again…and…Again?

The 2 "Must Haves"
for Slipping Punches

Masterful defensive boxers have exceptional perception and timing

  1. Their sense of perception is so highly developed that they can anticipate, see, and almost instinctively "feel" when their opponent is going to throw a punch at them.
  2. Their timing is so "spot on" that they can instantly chose the best technique to use to make their opponent miss. They do this so naturally without even thinking about it.  They just react and their opponents miss them over and over again.

Get your boxing gloves on and I'll show you how you can develop these top two qualities of boxing defense in the video above. Let's go champ!

Slipping a Jab (Inside)

 Step-by-Step Instructions:

  1.  Get into your boxing stance.
  2.   “Get ready” for the Jab coming straight at your head.
  3. Rotate the right side of your hips and right shoulder counter-clockwise (toward your left knee)

WHILE Doing the Following at the Same Time:

  • Pivoting on the right front “ball” of your foot. note: your right ankle will “kick out,” as you do this.
  • Moving your right knee toward left knee while lowering it.
  • Shifting more of your weight to your left leg.
  • Allowing your opponents jab to go over your right shoulder / “Missing Your Head!”
